About the role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and build the data platforms our clients rely on for reporting, analytics and AI. You will work with modern cloud services and lakehouse technology, and set the standard for quality, performance and reliability in everything you deliver.
You will work closely with architects, analysts and data scientists, and mentor other engineers on the team.
What you’ll do
- Design and build batch and streaming data pipelines on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Develop lakehouse and warehouse models using the Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Gold) architecture.
- Integrate data from APIs, databases, files and event streams.
- Implement data quality checks, validation, lineage and monitoring.
- Tune pipelines and queries for performance and cost.
- Automate deployments with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
- Review code and mentor other engineers.
What you bring
- 5+ years in data engineering.
- Strong SQL and Python or PySpark.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
- A solid understanding of data modelling (dimensional, lakehouse, slowly changing dimensions).
- Experience with Git and CI/CD.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms.
- Experience with Unity Catalog, Purview or other governance tools.
- Databricks, Azure or AWS data certifications.
