About the role
As Team Lead, Data Science, you will guide data scientists from problem framing to production. You will help clients turn business questions into analytical approaches, build models that work in the real world, and make sure they keep working after launch.
Your work will span predictive analytics, natural language processing, computer vision and generative AI, often in regulated industries where explainability and governance matter.
What you’ll do
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers.
- Work with clients to frame problems, define success measures and choose the right approach.
- Build and validate predictive models, NLP solutions and generative AI applications.
- Partner with data engineers on features and production-ready data pipelines.
- Put MLOps in place: experiment tracking, deployment, monitoring and retraining.
- Explain results and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Champion responsible AI: fairness, explainability, privacy and model risk management.
What you bring
- 6+ years in data science or machine learning, including 2+ years leading a team.
- Strong Python and statistics, with scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience taking models into production on a cloud platform.
- Experience with large language models, embeddings or retrieval-augmented generation.
- Strong SQL and comfort with large datasets in Spark or Databricks.
- The ability to explain complex ideas simply.
Nice to have
- A graduate degree in a quantitative field.
- Experience in financial services, insurance or healthcare.
- Experience with Azure Machine Learning, MLflow or Vertex AI.
